Suppliers

Florachem stocks and sells a core group of flavor, fragrance and aroma chemical products derived mainly from natural sources that include the citrus and pine forests of the world.

Our citrus business has been a core of our success for twenty years. In 2008, we increased our commitment to this sector by acquiring a citrus oil folding facility in Mission, Texas. This strategic location is well situated not only for incoming raw materials from Florida, California and Brazil, it is also next to the expanding Mexican citrus growing region.

Our pine-chemicals supply chain is based in the United States, Scandinavia, Brazil, Eastern Europe and the Asia-Pacific regions.

We source our flavor and fragrance ingredients from Spain, Israel, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, India and China.

At Florachem, we understand the products we sell and their applications. This makes us much more than a commodities vendor; it makes us a valuable partner to our suppliers and customers alike.

In the nearly twenty years since our founding, Florachem has built exceptionally strong relationships with the world’s most reliable suppliers of top-quality raw materials. Our international expertise has allowed us to identify the very best partners—partners we and our customers can rely on, year after year, cycle after cycle. A Note To Prospective Suppliers.

If you are a manufacturer interested in forming a potential partnership with Florachem, please give us a call to discuss product lines, business practices and possibly schedule a plant visit. Although we have rigorous standards that must be met before we will handle a supplier’s products, we’re always seeking partners who share our passion for excellence.

Polymerized Rosin Products Added to FloraRez Line

Florachem is expanding its FloraRez line with three polymerized rosin products. These consist of rosin acids that have been partially dimerized to various degrees, yielding acid functionality with higher softening points than rosin. Non-crystallizing, these resins offer the formulator improved specific adhesion with less loss in cohesion. Applications include adhesives, inks, and coatings.

FloraRez DR95

FloraRez DR115

FloraRez DR140

These products have R&B softening points of 90°C to 145°C, with specific acid number and color parameters. Please contact us for further information.

A major U.S. manufacturer has announced a Florida plant closure and withdrawal of dimerized rosin products from the market. FloraRez products offer continuity of supply from stock points located throughout the USA.

Florida Citrus Crop final results for 2007-2008

This year’s Florida orange crop finished at 169.7 million boxes, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The crop represents a 32 percent increase from the 2006-2007 season.

The 169.7 million boxes consist of 83.5 million boxes of Early-Mids and navels, and 86.2 million boxes of Valencias.

The Florida citrus industry saw a decline in orange production from 230 million boxes to 129 million boxes during the five-year period between the 2001-2002 season and the 2006-2007 season, largely due to the effects of hurricanes, development, and pests and diseases such as citrus canker and greening.

Floramask(TM) Odor Masks product line expanded

Florachem has introduced several new odor mask products which are specifically formulated for cost-effective industrial applications. Floramask™ products neutralize many undesirable odors such as sulfur and amine compounds. Currently, we offer eleven different Floramask™ products, with scents that include citrus, fresh breeze, and lavender among others.

Florida Citrus Crop Estimate for 2006-2007 lowest in 17 years

The U.S. Department of Agriculture today released its first Florida Citrus crop estimate for the 2006-2007 season, anticipating production of 135 million boxes, down from last season’s total of 147.9 million boxes. The 9% decrease in production has been attributed to slow recovery of trees from hurricane damage two years ago. In addition, yields have been affected by canker eradication programs and simply a loss of tree acreage to land development.

A crop of 135 million boxes would be the lowest since the 1989-1990 season when freeze damage resulted in a yield of only 110.2 million boxes. Florida is second largest orange producing region in the world behind Brazil.

Florachem stragetically sources orange oil, d-Limonene and other derivative products from global production regions. Our goal is to manage supply such that we can meet the long term requirements of our customers.
